Mamata Banerjee dares BJP to prove allegations against TMC

Kolkata, Sept 12: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today challenged BJP to prove its allegation that leaders of Trinamool Congress were involved in the Saradha chit fund scam. "A leader of their party had come and accused me. I don't want to take his name. He himself is accused of perpetuating riots. I have those records also. He has accused me of duping 17 lakh people. Either he has to reply or has to accept that he has made a wrong statement," Banerjee said in an interview to a local TV channel. Banerjee said this in an apparent reference to BJP president Amit Shah, but did not name him. The BJP president had last week alleged that the West Bengal chief minister's associates and "stooges" were involved in the Saradha Ponzi scam and asked her to quit office if she can't act against the wrong-doers. Asserting that BJP was not afraid of anyone, Shah said those involved in the scam would be arrested and put behind bars. Banerjee wondered how he can say that "we duped the masses in Saradha Scam" and expressed surprise "from where he he gets such an audacity". "People will give him a befitting reply. Saradha chit fund company didn't come up during my regime but during the Left regime. And not 17 lakh but 12 lakh investors were duped in the Saradha scam. He should cross check his facts from his friends," Banerjee said. She went on to claim, "We from our government treasury had returned money to five lakh investors. The CBI is now investigating. They will return the money to the rest of the seven lakh people. If CBI can't, then Arun Jaitley (Union Finance Minister) will return the money." Banerjee also slammed Shah's statement that those who are culprits will be arrested and jailed. "We hate chit funds. We have arrested main culprit. Now they are spreading canards against me. They are saying that they will put me behind bars. Where from they get such an audacity? Those who are saying this have themselves been to prison. I know all their dirty acts, people from Gujarat have only given me those evidences," said Banerjee. She also said that a bill framed by the state government to contain chit fund companies in the state had been withheld by the Centre. "Chit funds are not under state governments, but under the central government. Chit Funds are looked by the RBI and SEBI, and central government," she said. Banerjee claimed that a big chit fund company in New Delhi had duped the investors of Rs 45,000 crore. "What were they doing then when investors were getting cheated of around Rs 45,000 crore by a chit fund company near Delhi? They only brag about religion and are busy chanting "NAMO, NAMO," Banerjee said.

AAP MLAs to Donate For Flood-hit People in Jammu and Kashmir

Aam Aadmi Party MLAs have decided to donate Rs 20 lakh each for relief and rescue operations in flood-ravaged Jammu and Kashmir. The 27 AAP legislators will donate a minimum of Rs 20 lakh from the MLA Development Fund. "A decision was taken to donate money for the relief operations in Jammu and Kashmir at a meeting of AAP MLAs," senior party leader Manish Sisodia said. "As per the provision, MLAs can donate money upto Rs 35 lakh for any natural calamity or disaster," an AAP leader said. The party is yet to take a decision on whether it will donate the money to the Prime Minister's Relief fund or Jammu and Kashmir CM's Relief Fund or some other private fund. He said the party has been mobilising relief material for the flood victims and had asked Delhi Cantt MLA Surinder Singh to take charge of the operations.

Indian Election Commission to announce Assembly polls schedule today

New Delhi, Sept 12: The Election Commission (EC) is expected to announce the poll schedule for Assembly elections in few states on Friday. Officials said the poll body is likely to announce the schedule for Haryana and Maharashtra while it may decide the schedule for Jharkhand and Jammu and Kashmir on a later date. "Election Commission of India shall address a press conference at 4:30 PM today to announce election schedule for state assemblies," an official statement said. The tenure of the 288-member Maharashtra Assembly comes to an end on November 8, while that of the 90-member Haryana House will end on October 27. While Congress is ruling Haryana, the Congress-NCP alliance is ruling Maharashtra.

It has been reported that the attending judge of her case informed her mother that she has been entertaining other kids and women by talking about music and life. Shweta's onscreen mother, TV actress Sakshi Tanwar spoke about her feelings after receiving news about Shweta's arrest in connection with a prostitution racket in Hyderabad. Sakshi, while giving her statement, informed that Shweta's real mother has not been allowed to meet Shweta in the remand home where she has been lodged. Sakshi's open note to the media also informed that Shweta's real mother was told by the attending judge that the arrested actress has been entertaining her inmates. However, there were no confirmation regarding the statement from the officials yet. Shweta Basu's real mother has not been allowed to meet her in remand home yet Sakshi, in her letter, wrote,"I had been intending to write this piece since I got to know about it, but I wanted to first speak to her. Unable to do that, I did manage to talk to her real-life mother today." "How many of us know that her mother has not been allowed to meet her in the remand home yet? How many of us know that the attending judge has told her mother that she is cheering up kids and other women in the remand home by talking about music and life," Sakshi added. Continuing her statement, the actress of Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki, wrote, "Her (Shweta's) mother is feeling deprived, dejected and even defeated...and understandably so." 23-year-old Shweta along with many other high profile businessmen was arrested from a star hotel at Banjara Hills in Hyderabad. While police revealed Shweta and pimp Balu's names, they are yet to expose the businessmen who too are involved in the flesh trade racket. The actress, after her arrest, claimed that many more heroines are into prostitution and it is very common for them. Shweta was also quoted as saying, "All the doors were closed and some people encouraged me to get into prostitution to earn money. Aye-Aye

The aye-aye is a small lemur that lives in Madagascar. This creature would be hard-pressed to win a primate beauty pageant. The average aye-aye has large bulbous eyes — not unlike Gollum from "Lord of the Rings" — huge ears that are more creepy than adorable and nightmarishly long fingers. There is no evolutionary benefit to good looks in the aye-aye line.

 

To complete this strange package, the aye-aye feeds more like a woodpecker than a primate. The aye-aye taps on trees to find grubs, gnaws a hole into the wood, and uses its freakishly long middle finger — which looks like something Tim Burton might have created — to pull out its dinner.

Frilled shark

The frilled shark is straight out of central casting for prehistoric sharks and has been called a "living fossil" due to its unique and seemingly evolutionarily stunted features. It's not clear just how much direct lineage the frilled shark shares with ancient sharks, but even the possibility of a connection is exciting.

 

Whatever its origins, the frilled shark is one of the stranger things swimming in the ocean. The frilled shark has been found all over the Atlantic and Pacific oceans and seems to prefer feeding near biologically rich upwellings.

Dumbo octopus

The Dumbo octopus was so named because the fins that grow out of the side of its head resemble the floppy ears of Disney's flying elephant. The Dumbo octopus lives in extremely deep waters (up to three miles down) and looks as if it might be an anime caricature of an octopus.

 

It has huge eyes that are kind of adorable, and cute little tentacles that seem far too short for its bulbous little body. The Dumbo octopus uses both its tentacles and its Dumbo ears to move around, feeding off small worms, bivalves and crustaceans found on the sea floor.

Blobfish

The blobfish is a rare native of deep waters off Australia and Tasmania. Its choice of living quarters in the deep makes sense ... because this is one strange-looking creature.

 

The blobfish doesn't have the gas bladder that most other fish have to regulate buoyancy. Instead, it relies on its gelatinous flesh, which is slightly less dense than seawater, allowing it to easily swim around the ocean floor in search of food.

Shoebill

This bird looks like something you might see in a TV commercial — it has a wide, exaggerated beak that makes it look like a creature dreamed up to be the spokesperson for an insurance company.

 

Though this cartoonish bird looks like it should talk with a Brooklyn accent and bust your chops all day, the shoebill lives in swamps in east Africa and can grow to be nearly five feet tall. With a remaining population of only 5,000 to 8,000 birds, the shoebill is listed as a vulnerable species by BirdLife International.

Narendra Modi Ditches Mahindra Scorpio for an Armoured BMW 7-Series

A lot was said about the possibility of Narendra Modi - India's 15th Prime Minister - choosing the Mahindra Scorpio over BMW's 7 Series as his official car. But, it's finally clear that Mr. Modi has opted for a specially designed armoured 7 Series.

On his first day to office, he came chauffeured in a BMW 7-Series, given to the Prime Minister in India.

The 'made in India' Scorpio by Mahindra is among Mr. Modi's favourite vehicles - he used it throughout his campaign for 2014 General Elections. In fact, for his swearing-in ceremony, he was driven to Rashtrapati Bhawan in his armoured Scorpio.Series

Anand Mahindra, chairman and managing director, Mahindra & Mahindra, was reported saying that it would be a moment of pride for every Indian if Mr. Modi chooses the indigenous Scorpio as his official mode of transport.

According to reports, in a letter written to Mr. Modi, Anand Mahindra had requested for the Scorpio to be used as his official car. However, the final call on Prime Minister's set of wheels was taken by the Speical Protection Group (SPG), and it chose the BMW flagship for the job.

The Special Protection Group (SPG) was formed in 1988 and is responsible for providing proximate security to the Prime Minster, former PMs, as well as to the members of their respective families. Family members of the serving PM may decline the security, as can the former PMs and their family members.

The 7 Series in question here is specifically kitted out for the serving Prime Minister (Mr. Modi, in this case), and is known to be the safest vehicle in the country. It can protect its occupants from everything ranging from bombs to advanced rifle fires. The vehicle can also run on flat tyres for miles and has advanced heat sensors to debar bombs and missiles. Moreover, the fuel tank of the vehicle doesn't explode even when the car comes under attack and is fired upon, or set explosives to. The cabin turns into a gas proof chamber in case of a gas attack.

It would've been a mega news had the Prime Minister opted for the Scorpio as his official car, but it is clear that Mahindra still has a long road to cover, not just in terms of performance and dynamics, but also security and attack preparedness.

पाकिस्तानी जासूस के पैसे और न्यूड वीडियो से फिसला सेना का जवान, गिरफ्तार

भारतीय सेना का एक जवान पाकिस्तान की एक महिला जासूस के जाल में फंस गया और उसे लंबे समय तक सेना के अहम राज़ बताता रहा। सिकंदराबाद रेलवे स्टेशन पर तैनात इस जवान को जासूसी के आरोप में पुलिस ने गिरफ्तार कर लिया है और कंप्यूटर और उससे जुड़ी कई चीजें बरामद की हैं। पुलिस और सेना उससे पूछताछ कर रही है। पता चला है कि भारतीय सेना की अहम जानकारियों के एवज में भारतीय जवान को पाकिस्तानी महिला  रकम देने के अलावा अपनी न्यूड तस्वीरें और वीडियो भी उसके साथ शेयर करती थी। यही नहीं, महिला ने पोद्दार को लंदन की सैर करवाने का भी वादा किया था। 

 

40 साल का नायब सूबेदार पाटन कुमार पोद्दार 151 एमसी/एमएफ डिटैचमेंट में सिकंदराबाद रेलवे स्टेशन पर तैनात था। पोद्दार के खिलाफ तैयार रिमांड केस डायरी के मुताबिक वह पश्चिम बंगाल के माल्दा जिले का रहने वाला है। पोद्दार पर आरोप है उसने पिछले साल जुलाई से पाकिस्तानी महिला जासूस को अहम जानकारियां दीं। इन जानकारियों के एवज में पाकिस्तानी महिला जासूस पोद्दार के बैंक खाते में रकम जमा करवाती थी।  

 

'अनुष्का अग्रवाल' ने फेसबुक के जरिए जवान को फंसाया

पूछताछ के दौरान ​पोद्दार ने बताया कि फेसबुक के जरिए वह पिछले साल 'अनुष्का अग्रवाल' नाम की लड़की के संपर्क में आया। लड़की ने बताया कि वह उत्तर प्रदेश के झांसी की रहने वाली है और एमएससी की छात्रा है। अनुष्का बनी पाकिस्तानी जासूस ने पोद्दार को बताया था कि उसके पिता भारतीय वायुसेना के रिटायर कमांडर हैं और संयुक्त राष्ट्र के लिए झांसी में एनजीओ चलाते हैं। महिला ने पोद्दार को इशारों-इशारों में यह बता दिया कि वह पोद्दार की तरफ आकर्षित है। अनुष्का ने पोद्दार को अपने एनजीओ में काम करने का प्रस्ताव दिया। अनुष्का ने पोद्दार को भारतीय सेना का आनलाइन सर्वे करने के एवज में हर महीने 10 हजार रुपए देने का वादा किया। 

 

कैसे बेची जानकारी 
पुलिस के मुताबिक अनुष्का ने पहले अपनी न्यूड तस्वीर पोद्दार को दी और फिर अपने न्यूड वीडियो से उसको अपने झांसे में ले लिया। पिछले साल जुलाई में अनुष्का ने पोद्दार के माल्दा स्थित मंगलबारी ब्रांच के खाते में 9 हजार रुपए जमा किए। पोद्दार ने महिला के इशारे पर एक आनलाइन फार्म भरा जिसमें पेशा, निजी ब्योरे शामिल थे। अपनी तस्वीरों के साथ इन जानकारियों को पोद्दार ने अनुष्का को ईमेल कर दिया। इसके बाद अनुष्का ने पोद्दार को उसके मोबाइल फोन पर काल करना शुरू किया। इसके बाद समय-समय पर अनुष्का के नाम से पाकिस्तानी जासूस पोद्दार के बैंक खाते में पैसे जमा करवाती रही और सेना से जुड़ी अहम जानकारियां हासिल करती रही।

 

अनुष्का से मिले पैसे से पोद्दार ने पुराना लैपटाप खरीद लिया और उससे संपर्क में रहता था।अनुष्का इंटरनेट फोन के जरिए पोद्दार से बात करती थी। पोद्दार सिकंदराबाद रेलवे स्टेशन पर मौजूद सेना के बुकिंग काउंटर पर देर रात तक अपने निजी लैपटाप और डेटा कार्ड का इस्तेमाल कर अनुष्का से चैट करता था। महिला जासूस के कहने पर पोद्दार ने अपने आधिकारिक कंप्यूटर पर वायरस साफ्टवेयर ट्रोजन को इंस्टाल किया था। ट्रोजन की मदद से अनुष्का पोद्दार को कंप्यूटर को एक्सेस कर लेती थी।

किस तरह की जानकारी शेयर की 
पोद्दार ने वेस्टर्न सेक्टर में सेना के मूवमेंट, सिकंदराबाद से जोधपुर तक 96 फील्ड रेजिमेंट और 10 मीडियम रेजिमेंट के मूवमेंट की जानकारी महिला जासूस से साझा की। पोद्दार ने माना है कि उसने सिकंदराबाद से बाहर जाने वाली सेना की यूनिट की जानकारी भी दी। अनुष्का ने पोद्दार को मिसाइल यूनिट और स्टोरेज यूनिट की तस्वीरें, सिकंदरबाद में सेना के फार्मेशन साइन की भी जानकारी भेजने को कहा था। लेकिन पोद्दार के पास ऐसी तस्वीरें और जानकारी नहीं थी। नवंबर, 2013 में अनुष्का ने पोद्दार को 15,000 रुपए दिए। इसके एवज में पोद्दार ने 12 आर्मी यूनिट, ब्रिगेड के नाम और उनकी तैनाती की जगह अनुष्का को बताई। इस साल पोद्दार को दो किश्तों में 30 हजार रुपए मिले और उसने आर्टिलरी रेजिमेंट, कमांड, आर्मी बेस, कार्प्स, डिवीजन हेड क्वार्टर और ब्रिगेड के बारे में कामन ईमेल अकाउंट से जानकारी अनुष्का को दी। 

 

कई जवानों के संपर्क में थी अनुष्का 

इंटेलीजेंस एजेंसियों को पोद्दार की गतिविधियों पर शक हुआ था। जांच शुरू हुई तो पता चला कि फेसबुक पर अनुष्का अग्रवाल एक फर्जी पहचान है। यही नहीं जासूस सेना के कई जवानों के संपर्क में थी। सूत्रों के मुताबिक पोद्दार को महिला जासूस ने जो न्यूड वीडियो अपना बताते हुए भेजा था, वह असल में महिला जासूस का नहीं है। पुलिस ने पोद्दार के पास से तीन मोबाइल फोन, 10 सिम कार्ड, तीन डेटा कार्ड, पेन ड्राइव, कार्ड रीडर और दो कंप्यूटर बरामद किए हैं।
